I've been taking a couple of days break from updating the web site to sand the floor in our living room / Kitchen and I'm not enjoying it. First I had to take all the furniture outside and it rained. I did cover it all with a tarpaulin but I was hoping that it would be unnecessary. Then I sanded through the cable to the sander. Interesting to note that it still worked fine with half the cable worn away, maybe a bit of heat generated in the thin bit of the cable. After doing the middle of the room (not very well) I had to go around the edges with the edge sander (kantsliper in Norwegian). This is the beast in the photo and I call it a beast because it is one. When switched on conservation of angular momentum causes it to lurch violently anticlockwise, those big handles are not there for show. It was all I could do to stop it leaping out of my hands, using it to make the floor flat was too much to ask.
