Clear dark skies and plenty of solar activity means that tonight could be a good night for seeing the Northern lights (or the southern lights if that's where you live- International mindedness). There are now several web sites that give aurora forecast such as Aurora service. I just hope I stay awake long enough. By the way, those bright lights you can see in the photo. They're not the Northern lights they're the lights around my house.

I did stay up late enough but in an attempt to get to a dark field facing North I put my foot through a hole in a stone bridge and grazed my shin.
