Here is another one of those concepts that is hard to explain but all makes sense when you see the numbers changing. Easy to set up the equations for this one but a bit fiddly making the charges and plates move together.

Mine's not as good as the PhET version of course but the point is that by building their own simulations students will really understand the underlying physics / mathematics.
