Bounce zone

A recent post on the OCC was asking if a student should embark on an investigation if they don't have any understanding of the underlying physics. If they don't know the relationship they can't process the data and certainly can't evaluate the results. In the old IA that was OK since what they lost on the design labs they gain on DCP labs. With the new "one shot" system it will be more important to understand the physics and that's where simulations can play a part. The example in question was related to crumple zones so I built an Algodoo simulation to show how they work. More of a bounce zone than a crumple zone. You survive the head on collision only to get killed by the car behind.
