Brad´s Fiance explains temperature

Thursday 28 July 2016

We sometimes get students with misconceptions and although this is probably a fake it is an interesting example of how the use of a word for two different things can cause misunderstanding.

In this video Brad´s fiance explains why 30℃ is not that hot because 30° is only a small fraction of a complete circle. Quite funny but we shouldn´t laugh if one of our students came up with the idea.

She is right that 30℃ is not really that hot but is wrong about the maximum temperature being 360℃. I wonder why degree is used in both cases?
