Creating Student Accounts

Thursday 4 April 2019

Dear Fellow IB Language A: Language and Literature Teachers,

Firstly, a big thank you to you and your schools for subscribing to the English A: Language and literature website. We really hope you are finding it useful and we are looking forward to producing even more materials for the new course with exams starting in May 2021.

So much has changed since the early days of the site. One of the big changes is the ability to give all your students access to InThinking at no extra cost. Currently only about 8% of you are using this facility so the purpose of this post is to encourage all of you to consider whether you wish to do this.

You can exercise control over which pages you allow your students to see and there are many benefits. For example, students have access to all of the exemplar papers on the site if you have them create an account.  To take you through the whole process of how to provide your students access to the site, we have written step-by-step instructions that anyone can follow (it's a free page) under the title “Creating student accounts.”

If you have some time, please take a look at it and decide if it’s something you want for you and your school.  Good luck with your teaching!

Very best wishes,
Tim and David
