To teach an academic subject through the medium of English involves assuming that the students have sufficient linguistic resources to be able to cope with understanding and expressing concepts. But what does "sufficient" mean? One can express quite complex ideas with pretty simple vocabulary, if one takes care - but at what point might a student"s range of vocabulary and grammar be too simple and restricted to cope?...
