Do nations share? ... perhaps the nation state is the biggest stumbling-block in the development of the concept of "sharing the planet" - after all, each nation sees itself as unique and more important than anything else, and what does "the planet" mean from that perspective? So what are the roots of the idea of a "nation"? After all, the "nation" - as opposed to tribe / city / empire - hasn"t been around that long...
