Here is an exercise which provides practice in seeing how linking words are used to structure a complex argument. First of all, open the main source text provided in the box below - you can read it on-screen, or download and print it out.You should read the second half of the text, where the gaps appear, quite carefully, so as to understand the context of each gap.
