Orals: advising students

The heading above says it all, really! Some students (and teachers) like to take a melodramatic view of the Individual Interview - as a cross between The Last Judgement and Shoot-out at the OK Corral - but I believe that such a view is useless, unhelpful, even counter-productive.The headings of advice suggested below promote a matter-of-fact, pragmatic approach, which I am convinced makes the experience more enjoyable...
