August: Student access and History site updates

Friday 17 August 2018

A reminder on how to give your students access to this site and other new developments!

Student Access

As this is the start of the academic year for many schools, it seems a good time to remind you that you can sign up all your classes to this site.

Students can have access to all of the ATL pages, and you can give them access to the video and essay planning pages if you wish to.

The instructions for how to set up student groups and give your students access are now on this page: Student access to this site

We have also done a video on how to get the best out of the site which can be found on the Home page.

Anniversaries for this month

This month sees the 50th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Czechoslavakia. So for those of you teaching the Cold War or the Soviet Union, this could provide a useful starting point into the topic.

This is a 5 minute video made for the 40th Anniversary which gives a good overview and includes many eye witness accounts.

History site update:

The following resources have been uploaded/completed in the past month

In addition new activities have been added to these pages:

1.1 German and Italian expansion (1933–1940) (ATL) on Mussolini

1.2 German and Italian expansionism (1933 - 1940) ATL on Hitler

And finally the following topics are in the pipeline!

  • Completion of Topic 14 for Americas region
  • Topic 11 for Asia region
