Site update

Sunday 16 September 2018

It's here - the launch of the new site layout! Thank you for your patience while this work has been going on. I'll talk you through some of the main developments.

Topic-based navigation

The issue? Needing to go to many far-reaching areas of the site to access the resources for a particular lesson.

The update: Filing all unit planners, teaching information, student activities, practical work multiple choice questions, problems and tests by topic.

Options

The issue? There only appeared to be resources for one Option on the site (Engineering).

The update: Migrating the wealth of existing resources into the area of the site you'd expect. Engineering is still the largest, but it also has a lot of content worth teaching!

How To guides

The issue? Many site features were underused, such as Student Access.

The update: All explanatory pages have been combined to form the How To guides. Get in touch if you'd like help with any other aspects of the site.

Getting started and an introduction to IB Physics

The issue? Not knowing where to jump into a site with 100s of pages and 100 000s words!

The update: Whether you are new to the International Baccalaureate, new to teaching physics or a new subscriber, we have created a focal point for the essential intelligence you'll need in the first weeks of term.

Modernising

The issue? The site appeared to have some pages that were out of date or for the previous Subject Guide.

The update: We have stripped out the old material and will continue to monitor all current pages so that you can get on with day-to-day teaching and learning.

On a live site of this size there could be a few glitches and you might need to take a few moments to familiarise yourself with the updates. We hope in the long-run that it will make your use of the site richer and quicker.

With more improvements coming in the coming months, you are always welcome to let us know what you think.
