IB Physics: Mechanics

Mechanics is the study of motion, forces, work, energy, power and momentum. Key skills include finding gradients of graphs, taking measurements and distinguishing between scalar and vector quantities. Students will be introduced to the independence of horizontal and vertical motion and conservation principles, and will use Newton"s Laws to explain the effects of forces on objects.
