First let us consider a metal sphere.You can see that the potential is proportional to Q, the ratio Q/V is called the capacitance of the sphere.Capacitance = Q/VUnits CV-1 or Farad (F)If an object has a high capacitance then the potential will be small even if there is a lot of charge on it, this means that it doesn"t take much energy to charge it.It might help to think of an analogous situation
