PBL: Electromagnetic induction

A motor is a coil that rotates in a magnetic field, so is a generator. In this investigation you will use a small electric motor to generate electricity. Take a look at the motor mounted on the table. When the hanging mass is released it causes the motor to turn reaching terminal velocity after a short time. If a wire is connected across the terminals of the motor (where the battery should be) the mass falls more slowly.
