In order to promote international mindedness, what steps can be taken in psychology classes

That's a very broad question, Dabalina. Not sure really how to answer it here. You may want to post it on the Facebook page to see what people think. / This site is really for helping out with curriculum problems. The curriculum attempts to promote international mindedness through the study of culture and the lens of the sociocultural level of analysis.

Okay. Thank You. Actually while teaching SCLOA I am asking my students to make a survey based on some social variable like teacher-student relationship, parent-child relationship, educational structure. I told them to collect the data by asking their classmates ,who belong to some other nation but have come to India for education, to identify the differences they perceive in relation to the above mentioned variables. and considering Indian students as a separate group (or control group), the similar questions would be asked to them in order to get their views on how they are accommodating with multicultural atmosphere in school.

can any connection of international mindedness be made through this activity ? This activity was aimed at discussing entire SCLOA... Please guide me

Dabalina, I am not really sure I understand the question. IB psychology does not assess students on international mindedness. It is part of the philosophy of the program and you should be getting students to think outside of their own community to better understand different cultures.

Okay. I got your point. Thank you. But is the activity I mentioned, good to understand the cultural diversity?

John Crane 13 February 2017 - 16:37

Yes, it would be.
