Judging ethics of research proposals

When discussing ethics, there are several rather dodgy experiments in psychology. A good example of this is a study carried out by Middlemist, Knowles & Matter (1976) in which they covertly observed men urinating in a public toilet. They wanted to test to see "how the speed and flow of men"s urination in a public bathroom were affected by invasions of personal space." One could argue that this experiment is a bit problematic...
