Hi John,

Just wondering what score you gave the sample report? I am wondering whether to provide this to students, or to re-write using different headings and 'fix up': e.g. Introduction, Method and Materials, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Appendix for the purpose of preparing them for the Internal Assessment? I see that the student has used personal pronouns throughout... Do you allow this or insist they write academically?

Dear Jess,

Remember that this is not an official rubric - and I have made it possible for students to earn quite a few points just by carrying out the assessment. I have added a "marking of the sample" above to give you a sense of the feedback and marking that I give my own students on such a task. I hope that helps.
