Internal assessment checklist

The goal of the attached file is to help students deconstruct the internal assessment rubric while looking at their own completed work.

I hand this out to them three times. First, as we begin the process. This helps them to understand the expectations of each section of the paper. Then I had out another copy when they are about to turn in their rough drafts. Students sit with another student and show them where each of the criteria are met in their paper. When the other student can verify that it is there, then it is checked off the list. If not, it is listed as "to do."  When both students have completed the inventory, then students are instructed to make any final adjustments to their paper for submission.  I then ask them to include a final copy with their final submission.
