Getting started

The new guide was published in 2017 and the first exams were sat in May 2019. The guide is only available through My IB.  The goal of the IB Inthinking site is to provide you and your students with a wide range of sources to support the teaching and learning of psychology.

A large section of this site is devoted to lesson ideas and learning activities. This includes unit and lesson plans, video links, student worksheets, exemplar responses, quizzes and study guides. There are also "key studies" which are explained and evaluated in detail.

There is also an online textbook that is kept up to date with IB changes - and where any errors are corrected.  There is a complete list of all references used in the textbook with links to the original studies when available.

There are weekly updates of new material on the site.

Pages may be printed using the print icon at the top of each page.

There are several presentations available in the lesson plans.  These presentations are not downloadable.  There is, however, a copy of the presentation in the appropriate revision section of the unit where you can make the presentation available to students.

In the revision section, you will also find study guides.  These study guides are Google Docs.  By making a copy of the Google Doc, students can then tailor the study guide for exam preparation.

Finally, you will see a comments section on each page.  I try to answer all questions each morning so that you have a response as soon as possible.  When I am away from my computer for more than two days, I inform all subscribers that responses to questions will be less frequent.

I hope that you will find the resources on the site helpful in the planning and teaching of your program.  If you have suggestions, always feel free to leave a comment on the site.
