The sociocultural approach looks at the role of environmental factors in the onset of OCD. This is a more holistic approach to understanding the disorder. Sociocultural researchers look at factors like adverse childhood experiences, the role of parents and family, and cultural norms. All three of these factors will be examined in this module.
