Isabella Comparative Study, HL

This HL Comparative Study looks at 3 artworks that explore the human condition of isolation and alienation within modern urban contexts: Edward Hopper´s portraits of solitary figures evoking loneliness, George Segal´s faceless tableaux of apathy, and Zeng Fanzhi's disturbing portrayal of urban alienation in contemporary China. This makes for a comparison rich in connections, with many opportunities for analyzing cultural significance and differing functions and purpose.

Well chosen artworks for a high scoring CS: 7 (40 out of 42 marks)

 HL Connections (F)

It is worth noting the HL Connections (F)  with her own artwork. She is able to draw parallels beween the works studied and her own work in a meaningful and considered way, while maintaining her own style and originality.
