2d. Course: Response UN, NATO & KFOR

In September 1998, the UN adopted Resolution 1199 which demanded all parties in Kosovo cease hostilities. However, the violence continued and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) launched an air campaign which ulitmately forced Milošević to accept the terms of an international peace plan In June 1999. The peace plan was to be overseen by the NATO-led peacekeeping Kosovo force (KFOR) on the ground in Kosovo.
