I've been talking about buying an electric car for years and now we have. It's a VW id3. 75% of new cars in Norway are electric and there are many reasons why.

• We can afford them.
• There are tax benefits.
• We have a good infrastructure.
• Most people have garages so charge at home.
• Almost all of our electricity is from hydropower.

The only problem is the lithium battery. Extraction of Lithium is environmentally damaging and takes place in countries with poor human rights records. The only redeeming feature is that it is 100% recyclable, at least it will be when someone works out how to do it.
