Before giving this experiment I usually get the students to do a simple acid base titration to introduce them to the correct technique of titration. The experiment is usually to determine the concentration of a solution of sodium hydroxide (about 0.1 mol dm-3) using 0.100 mol dm-3 hydrochloric acid. Students learn about the importance of rinsing out the equipment etc. beforehand and obtaining precise and accurate results....
