.This makes use of a blog I wrote ( Language Test ) which set out to tell a personal anecdote in an amusing tongue-in-cheek way. It also, of course, was intended to point out how our students may suffer stresses and strains in the real-world use of the language.Re-reading the text, I noticed that I had in fact used a very wide range of common rhetorical tricks in order to tell the tale as entertainingly as possible....
