How to teach TOK

I have regularly said to students who comment that the discussion we"re having "sounds like TOK" ... "Well, English B IS TOK !"The reason I say this is because in English B classes we are continually asking "What does this word or phrase mean?" But that is inherently a question which is both linguistic ("so look it up in a dictionary") ... and a TOK question ("why does it have that meaning, and how do we know?").
