Could a HL student totally disregard the 3rd category and not do ANYTHING (PP or EXH.) work that is considered DIGITAL of LENS-BASED ART?

Actually, yes. Because the art making forms requirement is 3 different forms from at least 2 of the 3 columns, and the exhibition has no specifications as to medium.

What if a student wants to make a collage from images from a magazines? I do not see collage on the list. If they decide to make a collage does the student need to reference every journal or magazine where they found the images?
Thank you,
Ann Forget

Hi Ann, collage is in two D forms. The IB does say to reference found images, but i think this depends on how much of the original image is actually used, a tiny scrap of an image need not be referenced while a significant portion of an image yes.

Hi, Heather
Quite a number of my students have completed mixed-media pieces, in addition to painting and lens-based photography. Will they be marked down, as there is no specific category for mixed-media as an artmaking form.
Thanks
Andrew

not at all....you can sort of chose which area to place it.. is it 2D, 3D..? State clearly which column the student intends it to be considered as....

Hello All, I have a student who would like to include web design as one of his projects for his process portfolio only. He would do investigated research on a web designer and create a web site for our school's Formula 1 team. Thoughts on this? Thanks, Fiona Stewart

I would love to hear others thoughts on this... mine are: if its for the PP it can be seen as an exploration of graphic design? Could he focus on the design aspects rather than the tech?
